Early 20th Century Self Taught Hand Carved Bird Figure. We are proud to offer a wonderfully hand carved sculptural self-taught figure of a bird.

This carving shows great craftsmanship in the detail of this figure, with glass eyes and in a position of catching its prey which is a small mouse. At the base of the figure there is an engraved letter B, likely to have been the initial of the carver we assume. The item is made from a single carved piece of wood. The item has a lovely aged patination across its surface and is very decorative and sculptural as you can see. This item was uncovered in Paris earlier this month and is untouched in form. H 16" x W 13" x D 14. Aged through wear and tear is present across this item as you can see, patination across the wooden surface is present with light fading in sections, structurally secure and not cracked or broken. This may cost a bit more, but at least you are covered from accidents that may take place whilst in transit. We always aim to make sure our customers are not disappointed or misinformed about items that are for sale in our store. For this reason, we strongly recommend that relevant questions relating to the item in question are proposed to us directly, additionally all photographs are used as reference and as part of the advertisement. Additional to this we used a few carefully selected couriers in the UK to deliver our most fragile or larger item. We believe in what we do, deliver what we say we will deliver, and make sure that our unique items are presented and delivered as we would expect them to be presented and delivered to us. Customer service and satisfaction is as important as the item itself and we believe therefore our customers keep coming back for more beautiful and unique item to decorate their lives with.
