Here for sale is a unique 18th to early 19th century slide spice box. It is painted in a sort of reddish- brown / New England brown paint that has the best dry surface.

Looks like there may be red paint underneath. Constructed with lots of wonderful square nails. It is divided inside, and the slide lid has a unique and unusual form and thumb pull. It measures 12 inches long by 6 5/8 inches by 5 3/8 inches tall at the side wall.

Shows light wear to the painted surface as expected from age and use, and it remains in great overall condition. A unique and early primitive box!
